Rule the Night

Psalm 19

  1. The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

  1. Day after day they pour forth speech.

night after night they reveal knowledge.

  1. They have no speech, they use no words;

no sound is heard from them.

  1. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world.

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.

  1. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,

like a champion rejoicing to run his course.

  1. It rises at one end of the heavens

and makes its circuit to the other;

nothing is deprived of its warmth.

  1. The law of the Lord is perfect,

refreshing the soul.

The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,

making wise the simple.

  1. The precepts of the Lord are right,

giving joy to the heart.

The commands of the Lord are radiant,

giving light to the eyes.

  1. The fear of the Lord is pure,

enduring forever.

The decrees of the Lord are firm,

and all of them are righteous.

  1. They are more precious than gold,

than much pure gold;

they are sweeter than honey,

than honey from the honeycomb.

  1. By them your servant is warned;

in keeping them there is great reward.

  1. But who can discern their own errors?

Forgive my hidden faults.

  1. Keep your servant also from willful sins;

may they not rule over me.

Then I will be blameless,

innocent of great transgression.

  1. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart

be pleasing in your sight,

Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Daniel 7:13-14

13 I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Luke 6:12

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray and spent the night praying to God.

In the book of Genesis, Joseph had two dreams in the night that pointed him to the plan of God for his life and destiny, in the same book Pharaoh had two dreams of the night in which the future of Egypt and the destiny of the whole world was shown to him. When we study the Word of God critically, we will see that the night has a role to play in the introduction of mysteries, new knowledge, revelations, and inspirations to the children of God and to men who are considered to be wise. The Maggi, Astrologers, and diviners mentioned in the Bible like Balaam, all used the vehicle of the night to push the frontiers of knowledge and understanding. Moses saw many wonders in the Night, the Pillar of Fire led at Night, the firstborn sons of Egypt were killed by strange angels at Night, Sodom and Gomorrah were visited by angels at night. When Daniel needed to solve the mystery of the dream of Nebuchadnezzar and its interpretation, he turned to the Lord, and it was revealed to him in the vision of the Night.

In Psalm 19, it was written boldly that the heavens reveal knowledge night after night! For many years, the Christian church in Africa was meant to believe that the night is for evil spirits and the agents of darkness like witches, wizards, queen of the coast, demons, and other foul spirits. It was so bad that some churches would boldly declare that witches and wizards meet at 1 am every day and therefore, they also will meet to pray at 1 AM to counter the meeting of the sons of darkness. This was not written in the Bible anywhere. How did we come about knowledge like this? When I asked, I was told witches and wizards, herbalists and occultists who confessed and became Christians shared the time of their meeting with the leaders of the church, and church leaders adopted this as part of actionable intel against the hordes of darkness. This knowledge has only allowed evil to thrive in the hearts of men.

It is useless knowledge that has done the body of Christ no good because God himself did not teach us anything like that and neither did Jesus. From the moment such knowledge became widespread in the church, the record of demonic attacks in the body of Christ has only increased and intensified. The knowledge of good and evil has done nobody any good since the book of Genesis! It is not every knowledge that is profitable. The knowledge of how the devil works or how he operates or the names of his demons and whatever else is of no benefit to the Christian. First, he is a liar and a deceiver who will never tell any believer the truth which will then lead to his own harm. Again, if it is true that there is a certain time he meets and this has become so widely known, the logical thing for him to do is change the time of the meeting as a form of misdirection. There is no law that compelled him to have meetings at that time if indeed he is the head of his own kingdom. Being naïve has cost many believers their ability to believe in the truth. So many believers became fearful and some even got afflicted because they heard and believed what they should not be due to the itchy ear syndrome. The true knowledge that any believer should dwell on and grow in is called Christ. Peter admonished the church to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ.

What did Jesus Christ do at Night? The Bible showed us several instances where he prayed all night or on some hours of the Night.

Why did Jesus Christ pray at Night? The Bible said to share fellowship with the Father in the place of intimacy.

What does this mean? Jesus would communicate with the Father at Night, the Father will communicate with him too.

Jesus will communicate with angels at Night, and the angels will communicate with him too. Jesus will receive intel, knowledge, revelations, instructions, visions, guidance, and insight at Night. During the day, Jesus will act out this intel and produce good results Jesus acted out this intel by teaching mysteries and working miracles that nobody had ever seen before. Whenever anyone challenges him on the uniqueness of the wonders he did, Jesus would tell them he does only what He had seen the Father do.

John 5

So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. 17. In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” For this reason, they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these so that you will be amazed. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so, the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. Moreover, the Father judges no one but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him. “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

If we look at the scriptures critically, we will see the secret to the success of the ministry of Jesus clearly spelled out. The knowledge source he had was singular, God! He didn’t listen to the confession of any witch or herbalist, and he didn’t adjust his prayer time to fit into any information from hell or darkness. He did not give the night to evil and darkness. He used the night to his advantage! Right from the Old Testament, night has been the key to many revelations and the unlocking of many mysteries to the prophets of old. Even though many of them lived in highly demonic and idolatrous nations like Babylon, Egypt, Medes, Persia etc.

Daniel ruled the night

Joseph ruled the Night

Ezekiel ruled the night

Abraham ruled the night

Moses ruled the Night

Jesus ruled the Night

Peter ruled the Night

Paul ruled the Night

The night is not a time believers ought to be afraid and project that someone somewhere is looking to harm them or to hurt them. The Night is the time when secrets are revealed Jeremiah 33:3

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know”.

Daniel 2:19

During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven.

Isaiah saw the vision of God at night, Daniel and Jeremiah did the same John the revelator did the same. The night is a time when believers who are full of the Holy Spirit receive divine knowledge from heaven, they speak of these things during the day as they teach and demonstrate them to the sons of men.

The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they reveal knowledge.

They have no speech, they use no words;

no sound is heard from them.

Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world.

We are children of the day and rulers of the Night!

Since I became a believer and learned of the ability of the Holy Spirit that is at work in me, I have never allowed the enemy to rule over my night. As an unbeliever, a lot of wrong teachings and wrong knowledge led to certain kinds of dreams and spiritual attacks. I labored to find a way out of that maze through religious oblations like fasting and praying, reading some scriptures and engaging in some vigils, laying of hand, impartation, etc. The moment I became born again, I realized that all the religious stuff was unprofitable because they not only reinforced wrong belief systems in me, they really didn’t teach me what I needed to know to be free and productive in Christ. I started reading the Bible and to my amazement, I discovered that provisions were made for the night in Judaism. It was not conceded to the works of darkness. In Christianity, the night is divided into four three-hour periods called watches, which are used for prayer and reflection:  * First Watch: 6 PM–9 PM, also known as the Evening Watch * Second Watch: 9 PM–12 AM * Third Watch: 12 AM–3 AM, also known as the Breaking of Day Watch * Fourth Watch: 3 AM–6 AM, also known as the Morning Watch.

Each watch has a purpose, and some say that understanding them can help you know when to pray for God’s will. Here are some examples of what people do during each watch:  * First Watch: Contemplation and laying foundations in prayer * Second Watch: Intercessory prayer for protection * Third Watch: Spiritual warfare * Fourth Watch: Prophetic prayer, commanding the morning with prophetic decrees and declaring God’s word. I am asking believers to Rule the Night in 2025, it is the key to many mysteries including your dominion over the realm of money and currencies. These and other realities will be taught in PSSBC School 24 from Monday. You can still register if you feel led to do so.
