Gaining Mastery Through The Word

The process is simple;
The Holy Spirit gains Mastery over your Spirit in all things.
The Word of God gains mastery over your thoughts in all things, and you then gain mastery over all the elements, life and relationships around you effortlessly.

Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips (Hosea 14:2).

Words are so important.
As a matter of fact, words are everything. Every time you speak, you shape your life and future; you chart your course.
You’re the product of your words. Therefore, it’s up to you to chart your course for a greater and brighter future, with your words. Don’t talk to promote the problems and difficulties you’re facing; declare your victories. Have the right words in your mouth.
You may have read the inspiring story of the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4:8-36. Even though her son had died, she hurried off to the Prophet Elisha with only one declaration on her lips, “It is well.” She wasn’t screaming for help or complaining; rather, she went to the prophet of God with the right confession, and she got a miracle. She didn’t speak on the basis of her situation; rather, she spoke in agreement with God.
The Bible says in Isaiah 3:10 DRB, “Say to the just man (the righteous) that it is well….”
Jesus said in Mark 11:23 that you shall have what you say; the woman said it was well, and her confession produced results.
Choose always to make the right confessions.
Meditate on the Word to help you form the right mindset because before you can talk right, you must first think right.
God’s Word renews your mind and produces faith in your heart.
This is why you must constantly fellowship with the Word. Colossians 3:16 says to let the Word dwell in you richly; let it gain the mastery in you, and out of that abundance, you’ll speak (Matthew 12:34).
The Word on your lips will prevail and catapult you to higher levels of success, victory, and prosperity.
God already ordained your triumphant and victorious life; your role is to respond by affirming the same things in consent (Hebrews 13:5-6). Even now, affirm that you have a great life.
Acknowledge and declare that you’re excellent and full of glory, living the life of righteousness, dominion, and glory in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

Do you ever wonder just how Jesus did it? How was he able, as a man like us in every way, to live a perfect life? Was He really made as vulnerable to temptation as we are, or was He given a grace that made Him immune to the corruption of this world?
We may not know the full answer to these questions in this life, but Luke points us towards an observation worth consideration. Luke recorded this – “the child was growing and was developing mastery in spirit, being filled or filling Himself with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.”

The word Luke used – ἐκραταιοῦτο – conveys the idea of sufficient strength to gain complete mastery. Jesus grew to complete mastery IN SPIRIT. This strength (mastery) of spirit was the foundation for Him not giving way to those things that war against the soul.

Jesus gained mastery at being led by His spirit. Mastery of spirit allowed His inner man to govern His soul and body.
This mastery of spirit also allowed Him to fully commune with His Father, who is Spirit. Paul wrote that – “If we live BY THE SPIRIT, we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.”

Perhaps the reason many of us struggle to consistently live by the spirit is that we have yet to grow into a mastery of the spirit like our Lord did as a child. Paul’s prayer for the believers in Ephesus was that they would experience this mastery of the spirit in their inner man so that Jesus Christ would dwell in their hearts by faith.

If we are consistently losing the battle against the lusts of our flesh, perhaps we should consider that we have yet to grow into the mastery of spirit that our Lord grew into even as a child. May we experience this grace of mastery in spirit, so that we will be filled with the wisdom of God, just like our Lord was filled with wisdom growing up as a child.

Having a happy life doesn’t mean that you have sweet delicacies to eat, nice clothes and shoes to wear, or that you live in a mansion. You can have all those things and yet not have peace within. You’d be surprised to know that some people in prison are full of joy. That’s what happened with many of the Apostles in Bible days: Some were locked up, while others were detested, but they were all full of joy. Same thing with the prophets of old: They were punished for speaking the truth, and for doing what was right, but they were full of joy. So, joy and satisfaction aren’t in things but from your spirit.
There’s more to life than the world’s symbols of prosperity. It’s about the triumph of God’s Word in your life. Has the Word gained mastery over your life? That’s what matters. True prosperity and satisfaction are having God’s grace upon your life, which causes everything you’re involved with to succeed exceedingly. It’s having the totality of God’s blessings and grace, and the enablement to impart the same to others also. And this comes with happiness, peace of mind, and fulfillment.
How prosperous do you want to be? How glorious do you want your life to be? If you’d meditate on the Word, you’ll have all-around prosperity and true satisfaction! You’ll be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth fruit in due season; your leaves will not wither; and whatsoever you do shall prosper. Make the Word your delight and meditation, and your life will be full of glory.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).
In yielding to the Holy Spirit, you must yield to His Word. To yield isn’t merely a physical act, like dropping your shoulders or curling up in submission. It goes beyond outward behaviour. Even if you physically appear submissive, it’s possible to still be rebellious on the inside. Yielding comes from the heart.

Therefore, yielding to the Lord means giving yourself to what He tells you to do. It’s about following His Word. You aren’t truly yielded to Him if you don’t follow His Word, because He’s one with the Word. If you truly desire to understand and walk in God’s perfect will consistently, as well as grasp His judgments and perspectives on all matters of life, it’s essential to study and meditate on the Scriptures and follow everything the Word of God says.
Allow the Word of God to live through you and gain mastery over your thinking.
The more you allow the Word of God to dominate your mind, your decisions, your perspectives, and the way you see things, the more the Holy Spirit controls your life. He leads you through His Word.
There are so many voices in the world, but the Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).
Also, Isaiah 30:21 says, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it….” How can you judge the voice that you hear? Only through your knowledge of God’s Word can you discern and follow His leading.
So, immerse yourself in the Word and allow it to shape every area of your life.
