Purpose Commands Supply

Paul understood the message of the new creation; notice that he didn’t say, “My God shall supply all our need….”

He knew that the new creation isn’t in lack or want; the new creation doesn’t need to be “supplied”; he’s the supplier! Romans 8:17 says we’re heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.

Paul, with this understanding, said to the spiritually immature, “But my God shall supply all your need….”

When you’ve come of age, you’ll realize that in Christ, we don’t have any unmet needs. Matthew 6:33 says, “…seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

When you seek the Kingdom of God first, every good thing you could ever wish for would be added to your life, without you having to ask.

You won’t need to try to be happy, fulfilled or triumphant in life; you won’t need to pursue the things that the Gentiles seek: fame, money, recognition, acceptance, etc.; they shall be added unto you.

This doesn’t mean that after you’ve first sought and got the Kingdom of God, then you can go and seek other things; no. Seek the Kingdom, and you’ll get the rest of them combined.

You may say, “Yeah, that’s why I’m seeking the Kingdom of God.” No, don’t seek anymore; you already found it, if you’re born again; you’re already in the Kingdom, and the Kingdom is in you (Luke 17:21). To have the Kingdom is to have all things.

Don’t look at what you may consider a need; look at what He’s lavishly made available to you in Christ. You were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ; that means you’ve been brought into oneness, partnership or family-union with Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:9).

If this is true (and it is true), what in the world could you ever be in need of? Affirm God’s Word in your life; He has said all things are yours; declare the same, because truly, there’s nothing you require that hasn’t been provided in Christ. Hallelujah!

I’ve often said that money is an illusion that exists only in the minds of the poor. There’s no such thing as “money.” Money is a deception and a distraction in the world. When God made this world, there was no such thing as money.

Money evolved with time. With what’s happening in the world today, many now better understand that money is a game of numbers.

What God expects is that you live as the champion that He’s made you. Fear nothing in this world, and refuse to be intimidated. That’s the Gospel. Prosperity is beyond money.

The presence or absence of money doesn’t change your state or condition spiritually, and therefore shouldn’t change your testimony of God.

Money is a deception and a distraction in the world. Not many realise this, but it’s the truth. When God made this world, there was no such thing as money.

Money was an evolution; the world didn’t start out with money. But today, we act like money “fell” from heaven and God said, “Thou must use money.” But it’s not so.

Here’s how you can easily understand this deception: when you deposit money in the bank, you’re aware that there’s no special store created to store the money, with your name on every bill. Where then is all the money that the bank is keeping for you?

They only have a record against your name in figures as proof that you have money there. That should tell you something: money is an illusion; it exists only in the mind of the poor.

Your real quality and value have nothing to do with the bills in your pocket or safe-deposit box. If you can build, not your bank accounts, but your mind and your heart—the quality of your personality—it’ll control how much money responds to you.

Take your mind beyond money and focus on God’s purpose. His purpose for your life is that no matter what happens to the financial systems and operations of the world, you’ll always win. You’re bigger than inflation and the economy of the nation where you live.

You’re bigger than this world! You’re the seed of Abraham, meaning you own the world. Believe this, and you’d be free from the power and intimidation of money.

Your dream in life shouldn’t be about where to get money or how to get money. The first and most vital element is your mind. Put it to work, and money will respond to you always.

When God gives you an opportunity for service of any kind and in whatever capacity, it’s essential that you recognize and use it.

God is not a wasteful investor. He doesn’t invest in a place or person that yields no results. Think about it; if you were an investor, would you continue pouring resources into a project that shows no progress? Of course not!

Now, if man, in his limited human wisdom, would be cautious with his investments, how much more would God? Each one of us is an investment of God.

He expects us to bear fruit with the resources, gifts, talents, blessings, and opportunities He’s entrusted to us.

I love the way Paul puts it in 1 Corinthians 4:1; he calls us stewards, and in verse 2 he says, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” So, are you a faithful steward of God’s investment?

In John 15:2, the Lord Jesus said, “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

He cuts off the supply to the unfruitful branch; no more testimonies because the supply isn’t there anymore. God won’t waste His investment. So, let Him trust you.

He said in the 16th verse, “…I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…” (John 15:16).

What a privilege; what a blessing! The Lord Jesus Himself has chosen and ordained us to be fruitful. He ordained you to bring forth lasting fruits. Hallelujah! This is your mission. You’re a missionary to your world, chosen by God for this purpose.

As long as you remain faithful, God will continue to invest in you and trust you with more. Paul said, “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry” (1 Timothy 1:12).

The Lord will enable you, promote you, and continue to pour His resources into your life as you bear fruits for His Kingdom.
