Good News II

My initial application for a closed work permit (supported by my Ontario nomination certificate) was refused. Following that, I applied for restoration of status along with another closed work permit, but both were again refused, with instructions for me to leave Canada immediately.

When I contacted Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, I was informed that my only option was to reapply from outside Canada—and even then, there were no guarantees.

At that point, my job was at risk, as I had to stop working immediately due to being out of status.

However, by faith, I applied again—despite being advised otherwise. And to the glory of God, the approvals came through in just a matter of weeks.

To truly understand the magnitude of this miracle: a fresh restoration application can take 9 months or more to be processed—let alone one submitted under such circumstances.

God had spoken repeatedly—both directly to me and through my very lovely brethren in GSWMI—that He would do it.

Then, on Thursday night, I had a vision. I saw GSW walk into my room and say, “I want to pray about these approvals.” After praying with me, he chuckled and made a hand gesture that seemed to indicate, “You’ll get the approvals tomorrow or next week.”

Friday came and went—no email.

Then, during prayers late Friday night into Saturday morning, I remembered testimonies of how God had moved immigration officers to go into the office on a Saturday to attend to people’s files. In that moment, I declared that an officer would go in and work on our files that very day.

By Monday morning, there was still no email. But I held on to that gesture and reminded myself: if not Friday, then it must be this week.

Later that Monday afternoon, I checked my portal—and noticed movement dated Saturday.

Saturday!!!

The very same Saturday I had declared.

That alone strengthened my faith that the approvals would come that week, just as God had said.

Then, to my utter amazement—still with no email—my husband checked the portal again early this morning around 6 a.m. and saw the word:

APPROVED.

And the icing on the cake–on further scrutiny, the approval was actually dated Friday only that the document number was completed today!

Gloooorrryyy!!!

God can absolutely be trusted.

I am in complete awe—I can hardly contain what I’m feeling right now.
