As Told To Say: April will be the month of prophecy.
There’s so much the Lord has in store for you to enjoy in the coming month. Look forward to the New month of prophecy with faith and joy, for greater glory lies ahead, and it completely outshines the victories and triumphs of yesterday. Refuse to allow the seeming failures, weaknesses, and disappointments you may have experienced to dissipate your enthusiasm and faith to win.
Set your goals and focus on the Spirit and His Word. Don’t focus on the past. Look ahead. Raise your vision. The regrets of yesterday and the fear of tomorrow are enemies of today’s happiness. Position yourself for a triumphant life by keeping your gaze on and living in the Word. Refuse to give up on your dreams.
Proverbs 4:18 says, “…the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Believe and affirm this as the reality of your life. You can only make progress as a child of God. Your journey in life is upward and forward only; no disappointments, because “…we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Cheer up! The future is bright. You have nothing to fear. The Lord has already made the crooked paths straight; therefore, you’ll triumph in the coming year. He said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”
See yourself making a greater impact with the Gospel in the coming year. See yourself in health, joy, and prosperity. See yourself walking in righteousness and producing works and fruits of righteousness. See yourself fulfilling the will of the Father, pleasing Him in all things as you receive and run with the Word for the month. It is the month of prophecy, where we build new realities with the word and produce supernatural creations by the Spirit
What is Prophecy?
Prophecy is a word of power spoken to either foretell events or bring forth God’s Word into a situation in the now. We see from the Word that prophecy has a two-fold application: foretelling and forth-telling.
To foretell, according to the scriptures, means to tell ahead of time things in the mind of God concerning a person or people, places or events.
Forth-telling, on the other hand, means to speak forth, tell out or tell forward what is in the mind of God. It’s the declaration of events in the mind of God or the declaration of a particular Word from God to an individual, people, place, or event for a particular time.
Prophecy affects your life, and shapes your future
- God Wants You To Prophesy
Firstly, you need to know that God wants you to prophesy. 1 Corinthians 14:39 says “Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.”
Apostle Peter alluded to the words of the prophet Joel: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy…” (Acts 2:17)
To prophesy is to speak words that have divine potency; words that have life; so, don’t despise prophecy. Prophecy is like a guiding light. It was through prophecy that the people knew about the coming of Jesus. There were so many prophecies that the Savior—the Messiah—would come. The only proof that God had for the people to recognize and say, “This is the messiah,” was His Word spoken by the prophets about Christ—the Messiah.
- Prophecy Is A More Sure Word
The Scriptures are a prophetic word, a guiding light for the Christian in this world. This is why even in challenging times, as the nations fall into despair, the Bible says “…we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19 NASB).
When everything else shakes, only the Word will remain the same. Thus, you have to hold on to it tightly. Never despair, instead, lay hold on the sure Word of prophecy that has been declared concerning you. Pay attention to God’s Word, as you would do to a flicker of light in a dark place. The more you meditate on the Word, the brighter that light gets. When you pick that word that’s written concerning you and utter it in faith, that’s prophecy.
- Chart Your Course with Prophecy
God wants you to prophesy because with prophecy you chart your course in life. [1 Corinthians 14:1 (NKJV)] says “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy”.
Did you know that you can chart your course in perpetual victory and triumph through the gift of prophecy?
Absolutely! You can use the gift of prophecy to take charge of your life and control things in your ‘aion.’ Prophesy about the peace and prosperity of your nation and the nations of the world. Prophesy about your health, success, prosperity, and victory. Prophesy about your life, and about your future. Prophesy to your bone, to your body, to your skin, to your blood, to your finances, job, business, academics, etc. Prophesy now!
- Prophecy Edifies You And Edifies the Whole Body
Through the gift of prophecy, we can admonish one another and strengthen one another. 1 Corinthians 14:31 says, “For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.” This isn’t the same thing as everyone being a prophet. He didn’t say we may all desire to be prophets. Rather, it says that every one of us can, and should desire to prophesy.
See the words of Paul earlier in the same chapter [1 Corinthians 14:1-5 (NIV)]
“Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have your prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified. If the gift of prophecy will bless and edify the church, it’ll bless and edify you.
- War a Good Warfare with Prophecy
“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightiest war a good warfare” (1 Timothy 1:18)
The Spirit of God admonishes Timothy to war a good warfare with the prophecies spoken concerning him.
The Passion Translation of 1 Timothy 1:18 says, “…use your prophecies as weapons….” That means weaponizing the prophecies that have been spoken concerning you. Use the prophetic words concerning your life, your future, your ministry, career, etc as a weapon in prosecuting the good fight of faith. Ephesians 6:17 sheds more light on this; it says, “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” The sword of the spirit refers to the spoken word, and the spoken word is the prophetic word. It’s an offensive weapon.
What have you done with all the prophecies that have been spoken over you, including the ones written concerning you in the Scriptures? The Scriptures are replete with words of blessings and prophecies concerning the new creation; take them seriously. Use them in your fight of faith. It doesn’t matter if no one has ever really prophesied to you directly; prophesy to yourself! Moreover, when there’s a word of prophecy in the church, receive it and personalize it.
Sometimes, the word can come to you in a song while the choir is ministering, or while the preacher is preaching or teaching. It can come to you in your own spirit, because God is talking all the time to each one of us. Don’t forget where He is—He lives in you. If you pray and listen to Him in your spirit, the prophetic word will come to your spirit.
Besides the prophecies you receive in the church, the written word—the Bible— is full of prophecies. Get into your privacy, open a portion of the Bible, that’ll exhort you, and begin to read the scriptures out to yourself. The Psalms have a lot of exhortations and prophecies. As you read them aloud, put your spirit with it; trust and believe in the Word. Your spirit will immediately be in sync with the Spirit of God that authored the Word that you’re reading and pick up words from the author of the writings and you’ll continue to prophesy. Prophecy is one of the ways to bring the supernatural power of God into manifestation in your life and circumstances
The gift of prophecy is a door to the supernatural; it’s a way to bring the supernatural power of God into your life, finances, job, and your nation. Therefore, you must learn to prophesy! If you speak in tongues long enough, the anointing will come on you to prophesy; the Word of God will bubble up within you. And when that anointing comes on you, with the Word boiling inside you, give it vent; let it out. That’s prophecy.
You are going to prophesy; God is going to put His word in your mouth. You are going to speak words about your body, your family, your job, and your country and they will come to pass.
Ezekiel 37:1-25, 1 kings 13:1-6, 2 kings 23:15-18, Acts 2: 17
By the end of this month, tremendous things would have happened in your life…beautiful things!” read Acts 2:14-18, 1 Corinthians 14:3-4 and 1 Corinthians 14:6, revealing the Spirit’s desire to cause tremendous victories in your life.
The prophecy is: to speak divine inspiration; to speak forth divine revelation; to foretell future events; and, to give divine instruction or teaching (doctrine). “You are going to use that gift of prophecy to change things in your life; it will help perfect your walk in Christ and improve the quality of your ministrations. You cannot prophesy without inspiration.
This is why it is important to soak in the word, meditate, visualize, Hagar (Speak out loud or roar the word), pray in the Holy Spirit, and declare the utterances of the Spirit freely. Talk the known into the unknown, in order to activate the Spirit’s inspiration for prophecy.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy… (Acts 2:17).
Did you notice that the first response or result of having the Spirit poured out upon all flesh is that men and women would prophesy? It shows the importance of prophecy in prayer. Until you find yourself prophesying in prayer, you haven’t utilized the power and benefits of prayer.
Prophecy is two-fold: we speak forth and we foretell. The key is being filled with the Spirit. The Bible says in Ephesians 5:18, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” The underlined expression connotes something that’s supposed to continue. The proper rendering is actually, “Be being filled with the Spirit.”
That means you should always be filled with the Spirit. If you’re that way, your prayer life will be enriched with prophecy where you speak forth God’s Word and you foretell the future. Don’t leave your future in the hands of others; create your “aion”—course of life—with prophecy.
As an individual, how your life goes depends a lot on you. Likewise, as the Church of Jesus Christ, we must also recognize that we have a responsibility to determine what happens in our communities. That’s why our prayers must be laden with prophecies. Whenever we come together to pray, we must know we’re coming together to determine the future of our cities, our nations, and our world through our prophetic utterances. Hallelujah!
In the season dead things will come back to life swiftly, the winds of life will call forth the decaying and the decayed from their dark places
Job 14
“Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of trouble.
2 They Spring up like flowers and wither away; like fleeting shadows, they do not endure.
3 Do you fix your eye on them? Will you bring them [a] before you for judgment?
4 Who can bring what is pure from the impure? No one!
5 A person’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.
6 So look away from him and let him alone, till he has put in his time like a hired laborer.
7 “At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.
8 Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil,
9 yet at the scent of water, it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.
- The door of nations shall be opened wider and broader unto many as the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit shall bring to life the frames built by the Words of prophecy from the mouth of believers.
- The things that are not will find the pathway to be as the invisible will come into tangibility from the realm of invisibility.
- This month shall hold for many the key to reviving dead hopes and expectations.
- The key to the rain shall be given to many, that they may shut and open the heavens at will.
- The key to death shall be given to many, to bring to life and cause to be no more at will.
- The key to fire will be given to many, to cause fire to fall upon both the strange and the true altars so that the former may be destroyed and the other purified.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted (1 Corinthians 14:31).
To prophesy means to speak words of divine revelation and potency; words that have and give life. And through the gift of prophecy, the church is edified, strengthened, and comforted.
You might be in your closet or in a meeting, and words in Psalm 23 well up from within you, and then you go, “Psalm 23 verse 1 says, ‘The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want’; therefore, we’re nourished, sustained, energized, strengthened and prepared for His soon return through the ministry of the Word! We’re invigorated and vitalized through and through because He nourishes us.’” With such words, the church is edified. Hallelujah!
That’s why the Bible says, “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy” (1 Corinthians 14:1 NKJV). Rather, it says that every one of us can and should desire to prophesy.
If the gift of prophecy will bless and edify the church, it’ll bless and edify you. You can use the gift of prophecy to take charge of your life and control things in your “aeon.” Acts 2:17 says, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy….”
Chart your course in perpetual victory and triumph through the gift of prophecy.
Prophesy about the peace and prosperity of your nation and the nations of the world. Prophesy about your health, success, prosperity, and victory. Prophesy about your life, and about your future. Prophesy to your bone, to your body, to your skin, to your blood, to your finances, job, business, academics, etc.
As this month progresses, there could be times of difficulties when you face serious challenges. But at such times, don’t despair. Don’t loathe yourself or gripe that you’re going through such tough times. Even when everyone seems to be ignoring you and no one is offering help, in spite of all your appeals, refuse to be discouraged. The truth is, you’re not being ignored. What’s happening is that the Lord is training and teaching you to stand up and stand strong!
He’s challenging and setting you up for your next level of glory.
It doesn’t matter how dire the challenge you’re confronted with might seem; don’t run from pillar to post, seeking help from man; rather, talk your way out of it. This was what the Lord told Ezekiel to do in the valley of dry bones (Ezekiel 37:3–4). Ezekiel found himself in a valley full of dry bones and the Lord asked him, “Can these bones live?”
That was an impossible situation, but God told Ezekiel to “prophesy to the bones.” As he prophesied, a great miracle took place: “…and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone” (Ezekiel 37:7). If you’ve found yourself in a situation where you seem to be alone before God, and everything around you seem “dry”, the Lord is asking you, “Can I give life to this situation?” He’s asking: “Son of man, can there be a change?” He’s waiting for you to act on His Word! He wants you to put all the things you’ve learned into practice.
You speak forth what you see through the eyes of faith, not what you see all around you,
Keep declaring your health, success, prosperity, and victory in Christ Jesus.
Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus, saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live (Ezekiel 37:1-5).
Are you aware that you can change hopeless situations and effect positive changes in your life through the creative power of God’s Word in your mouth? You can change anything through the gift of prophecy. To prophesy means to speak words of divine revelation and potency: words that have and give life.
Now, here’s the interesting thing: the first thing God said would happen to the bones following Ezekiel’s prophecy was that He would cause breath to enter into them.
“So, I prophesied as I was commanded: and…when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them” (Ezekiel 37:7-8). “
God said to him, “…Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man…” (Ezekiel 37:9).
Sometimes, a word of prophecy comes to us, and we’re waiting for it to be fulfilled, and it doesn’t, so we think the prophecy was false. But we never asked the Lord what next to do as Ezekiel did. Ask the Holy Spirit the next step to take, the specific words to speak now. He’s, our Instructor; He leads and guides us. He’ll show you what to do and tell you what to say. It is time to “Prophesy to the wind” too. Hallelujah.
