Saul was travelling to Damascus on a mission with his comrades.
Suddenly, he saw a light, and he heard a sound which made him fall off his horse
His companions, however, didn’t hear this sound, and they didn’t see this light
They saw their friend fall off his horse, roll on the floor, and say some Gibberish words that sounded like “Who are you, Lord?”
To them, he was either hallucinating from an infection or heat stroke, or was suddenly struck by a strange illness
He, however, was having a life-changing encounter with the Lord Jesus.
Saul’s friends would say, we were there that day, and we didn’t see any Jesus or angel or light or even heard a voice
Saul would say “I heard a voice, then I saw a light and I had the most engaging discussion a man could have with God since the days of Moses and Daniel in broad daylight that afternoon”
Both Saul and Saul’s friends would be telling the truth. If you did a polygraphic test for all of them, none of them would fail.
This is a good example of the difference between the sight of a believer and the sight of an unbeliever
An unbeliever sleeps and has a dream, in the dream he sees himself being chased by some unknown assailants, he or she panics and wakes up sweating. Once it is morning, he or she heads for the house of a spiritualist, seeking help and clarity concerning the “omen”.
A believer sleeps and has a dream; in the dream he sees himself being chased by some unknown assailants.
He does not panic. He stops and turns around to look at his assailants. He says, “Stop now in the name of Jesus”.
The assailants stop immediately.
He proceeds to disarm them (not engage in a physical fight) with the authority in the name of Jesus through his words.
He takes the victory in that realm and judges the matter as one who has authority in heaven, on the earth and under the earth.
An unbeliever who is not knowledgeable would sleep and have a dream of being pursued by assailants. He or she would panic and wake up panting. After waking up he or she would pray for forgiveness of sin and read a psalm.
Later, he or she would go to his pastor or prophet to share the dream and beg to know the meaning of this omen.
