Don’t be a victim

Some years ago, a very close sister from church reached out to me about a vision she had

In the vision, she was being congratulated and offered a job in a bank.

She wore a blue suit in the vision she saw.

This sister had worked at an eatery for about two years due to the influence of her father and had moved from there to a bank again due to the influence of her father, but by this time, her father was dead.

She had lost her banking job, and debts were mounting.

Her husband was a stockbroker.

At that time, stockbroking was very unprofitable.

She reached out to me, asking for counselling on the vision she saw.

I told her to go and buy a blue suit and prepare for the interview.

She had been applying for a job, and it is a safe bet that she would eventually get positive feedback.

Two weeks later, she got a letter of interview from a Mortgage bank.

She knew nothing about mortgage banking and had previously worked with a commercial bank.

The letter stated the time of the interview as 11 am.

She wore the blue suit and got to the bank on time.

When she got there, they told her the interview was over.

The time had been changed to 8 am, and another mail sent out.

Unfortunately, she didn’t get the second email.

It was another missed opportunity.

She turned around to leave the banking premises.

It suddenly began to rain.

She waited by the bank’s entrance for the rain to abate.

A car drove into the compound, and a man dressed in a suit alighted from it.

The man scanned the people at the entrance and said, “Hello, lady in a blue suit, follow me.”

She followed the man into the bank.

They got into the elevator together.

When they got to the man’s office, the man said, “Lawyer, where are the land documents you were supposed to drop off for us?”

The lady realised the man was addressing her.

She told him she was not a lawyer.

She came to sit for an interview, and she missed it completely.

The man asked for her name and said, “Our lawyer is tidying up some land documents for us, and he told me one of his staff members wearing a blue suit will be waiting for me by the entrance.

He asked her for her documents.

Perused them and placed a call through to the HR manager

When the HR manager arrived, the man said, “This is Teju. I have decided to employ her as our Business Development Manager.”

Wow.

She got a position that was way higher than she applied for

The man told her she must deliver rich clients who would invest and also build using the bank’s facilities.

She got on it

All her late father’s friends and contacts

Her husband’s clients and friends

In one month, she secured deals worth over seven billion naira.

Three banks, the apex bank, three religious institutions, and cooperative societies engaged the bank’s facilities to build staff quarters and other projects.

The following month, all her accounts were taken from her and handed over to another staff member.

The boss said she had no experience in executing projects.

The other staff would be the ones to interact with contractors (and that was where the money or profit was), according to her.

She called me and lamented that the juicy part of the job had been given to someone else.

I said, “Tell the Lord about it. Don’t be a victim. If it is yours, don’t let anybody take it from you.”

We prayed.

She got to the office the next morning with a determination to approach the boss and ask him to give her a chance to handle the execution of the projects.

She brought in

The meeting was supposed to start at 9 AM.

Everybody was present except the staff who had been given her projects.

He took all the files home with him (which was against office rules), and therefore, they couldn’t deliberate on the projects to determine next steps.

They waited

He came in by 10 AM

He had been in traffic and was obviously angry and frustrated.

The boss asked him to look at the time he was getting to the office.

He exploded

He transferred the aggression and frustration to his boss.

Insulted and screamed at the man to shut up

The man told him to excuse them and leave the office.

He refused

They called in security.

There was a scuffle

In the course of the scuffle, he took off his suit and rolled up his sleeves.

All the charms on his arm and the juju belt on his waist were revealed.
