When I was a campus fellowship leader, all the brothers in the fellowship approached the sisters with “While I was praying, God said you are my wife.”
Meanwhile, the sisters would have come to me (because they wouldn’t approach the brothers directly) to say, “When I was praying, God said Brother so and so is my husband.”
The funny thing is, the person God showed the sister was never the person God showed the brother
Sister A comes to me to say God said Brother B is my husband
Then Brother Q will approach sister A and say, ” God said you are my wife.
You can conduct this experiment in your church or fellowship (Don’t conduct it among those who are already in the talking stage or are already hanging around each other)
Marriage and relationships were handled by the elders at the City Gates of Israel (check out the book of Ruth) in the Old Testament, and by Marriage brokers in modern times
No priest or prophet throughout the Bible received instructions directing anybody, a king, noble or citizen, to marry anybody as an instruction from God
No Apostle or disciple gave such an instruction in the epistles
Marriage is not divine.
Jesus said there is no marriage in heaven
Marriage is exclusive to humans
God does not appoint anybody to marry anybody
Marriage is a choice.
