You brought her home, and they gave her a warm reception
After she left, your mother and siblings held a meeting with you, and they told you they didn’t like her
You got upset naturally and couldn’t make sense of their position
You make the mistake of telling her this later that day on the phone
Her attitude towards your family members and relatives changed immediately.
They eventually accepted her and agreed that you should proceed to the wedding
Your wife went along
After the wedding, she then changes
She suddenly started giving your relatives attitude because they didn’t like her initially, even though she did nothing to offend them
You start another round of PR, trying to convince your wife to be warm to your family members and forgive them.
It becomes an endless cycle of offence with you in the middle

It would put her into hyperdrive, and she would begin to panic unnecessarily

So he kept his mouth shut
Every day, he would dress as if he were going to the office and find his way to a newspaper stand where he would browse newspapers for a vacancy for hours
From there, he would go to church and return home in the evening
He had some savings, and he knew he would most likely get a job before he ran out of the cash he had saved

One Sunday, the church pastor, whom he took into confidence, began to preach about the bad character of some women and how some men could not confide in their wives because they were afraid of the consequences of being vulnerable

When they got home, the wife began to stylishly interrogate the husband
“What was the pastor talking about? What secret was it you could not share with me? I know the pastor was referring to us, his words were too specific…”
The husband told the wife about his job and attending issues
The next day, the husband left the house as he usually did, but came home to an empty house
The wife had taken the children and left for her parents’ house
The husband eventually got another job six months later, but the wife never came back
He recently remarried.

It was the wife who really liked the husband, and she pursued him relentlessly
Even when he was posted to Guinea-Bissau for a project for two years, she waited for him and gave him a very close marking so that no other lady came close to him
After his two years abroad, he returned to Nigeria very rich

She said her conscience was not at rest, and she knew sooner or later he would be arrested or killed.

What he told her, however, was not the truth; he just tested her with the fake information.
He was a beneficiary of a USAID project promoting LGBTQ rights in West Africa at the time, and he was given access to some slush fund.
One of the conditions of that funding was that he must not disclose the source
He was given a cover story, which he gave to his wife
Things still didn’t turn out as he expected

A husband and his wife should be naked and not be ashamed
They should have no secrets
They should be vulnerable with one another
This is the Ideal, and it is a very good thing, but it does not apply to everybody
The moment some men share some news with their wives, the wives’ blood pressure will spike.
In some cases, the reaction to the news is so drastic that vulnerability is termed as foolishness.

The best person to be vulnerable with is the Holy Spirit. He will listen, and he will not judge.
He will teach, guide, and comfort with love and your best interest at heart.
