So the atmosphere changed; everything was good

Hello sir, so, um, first of all, once again, sir, I wanted to say thank you. Thank you so very much. Thank you for giving to the Lord. Thank you for being such a blessing, such a blessing to me. Such that I’m now also able to be a blessing to other people.

I know that these things that has happened now have been in me for a long time. I’ve always known I had the call of God on my life, but I’ve always known, but I just didn’t know how to start working in it, but I’m finding myself working in it already. Thank you so much, sir. I’m grateful.

So, the rest of the testimony I wanted to share was that yesterday, in church. After church, we had like a…, it was supposed to be a retraining session for the protocol unit, but it was like a retreat.
So, what happened is that we had been having… Like, for the past, say, six months, we had been having, like, a bit of… Which I noticed it, right? And I know I can do better, but emm, okay let me give you the background.

The background is that amongst people, when people come to church to serve, people are unhappy. There have been complaints. “Oh, this leader talked to me rudely.” “This person talked to me this way.”
It got really bad that yesterday, about four people, and I know there were even more than four people, they admitted that they had actually been planning on leaving the unit, to join another unit. So, there have been, like, strife.

Because, truthfully, though, the job in our church, because we run two services, we just moved to a new hall, we run two services, so it’s demanding, right and people complain about things like, “Oh, I came late, the way he talked to me.” You know, what you might call minor issues. But you see, in my church, we are mostly young people. So, I’m one of the oldest, to show you how young there are.

There are people mostly that just finished school, I mean, that just finished NYSC, people that are working, maybe two years of work, three years of work, singles, dating, few people are married. So, you know, that kind of setting. Before now, we used to have a very tight, very tight family atmosphere, but things have just gotten really hard.

And to be honest, though, I actually noticed, I think I observed and I knew that, I thought it was like a top-down problem, because our new leader… Now, I’ve learned to support and help the work of God. So the mistake I made was, the times when I noticed some things, I should have also tried to teach her, that this is how to do it, how to do it better.

But, you know, our own approach was more of the way, like, getting a machine, an organisation to run, everything on point. But these are people that are human; they want to feel loved. Anyway, so things have gotten a bit bad. And I know you had taught one time, when you were the leader, the pastor of the choir, and how you helped the choir, you know I heard you teach, mention it a couple of times.

So, I was like, “I can replicate the same.” So, I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but in my own unit that I was leading, our experience was different, because everybody in my unit is happy. They come to church happy to do their work, because I love them, and they know I love them, and I always take care of them and they always reciprocate.

So, when we now had the retreat, I was given the opportunity to lead it out, to take feedback from people.

So, we started the feedback session: “Okay, what has been going on? How are you feeling?” People started sharing their minds, you know, how they feel hurt. One lady just came up and said she had just joined for three months, and her first impression of us was, “These people in this unit are so unkind.” Ah, it touched me. I was like, “Kai Kai Kai, Guys, we need to attend to this.”

You take this feedback, thank you so much. But as we were talking, I was like, “Holy Spirit, what do we do, what do I do?” Because when we first started I prayed, the Holy Spirit just put in mind, “Pray, start praying.” So, I led it, and I said, “Guys, mid-session, everybody begin to pray in tongues.” We started praying in tongues. After like 20 minutes, I started teaching, Isaiah 28:13 “This is the rest, this is the refreshing, when we pray in tongues, as believers, we begin to draw into rest.”

So, I taught them, started praying again, then I started teaching them the gospel essentially, that we are born again, we are now an envoy of heaven, we have a slice of heaven. How can we be slices of heaven and be having all of these issues? I started teaching them the gospel, that they have the life of Christ, that the God’s spirit is in them, that they can see and hear in the spirit.

I started teaching them, “Now, we’re going to pray with intention, pray from the spirit, and you will hear from the Lord.
And you’re going to tell us”

So, I started praying, then the Holy Spirit led me to pick one person and put him in front, and we just started praying again. The atmosphere changed; everyone was calm again.

You know, then… not even me now… okay, so I had a word of knowledge. I taught about it, taught the gospel essentially, that they are loved, that they are not condemned, that they are the righteousness of God in Christ. You know I taught the gospel.

And then the guys that had word of knowledge started sharing it.
The Lord revealed the issue. One lady said she saw a vision of a clay pot that cracked, and there was a paper in it. And as if a hand brought it out and began to iron it, and it turned into a shirt, a well-ironed shirt. And that we should surrender, and that when we surrender, we’ll have healing.

So you know, I just told them that. There were two other people, three other people that also had the word of knowledge that we shared. Four rather, we shared. The atmosphere changed; we were happy. Then, during the meeting, I also got that we should have a vigil. So, I told them we will have a vigil.

So the atmosphere changed; everything was good. One of the guys brought to the front shared the word of knowledge about offense. Some people had offense; it was already affecting their health. So, we hugged each other, we loved each other, and then we brought up other issues.

You know, in terms of how can we improve our steps, and then we started addressing them. It was just such a powerful meeting; it was so good. Because at some point, I just took charge and started teaching the gospel.

After the meeting, all of them were like, “Ah, Omo Mr. Sam, thank you so much. I was blessed.” “You handled the meeting well.” “You have the spirit of leadership.” So, it was really, really good. And I’m grateful, very, very grateful for the opportunity to be a blessing this way.
Thank you so much, sir.
