“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28).
This prophecy was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, when believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, as Peter clarified.
As born-again Christians filled with the Holy Spirit, our role is to fulfill God’s will on earth, just as Jesus did.
In Luke 4:14-20, Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, outlines his purpose: to proclaim good news, to liberate prisoners, to give sight to the blind, and to set the oppressed free. He worked by the Spirit to fulfill his ministry.
Acts 10:38 describes Jesus’ ministry as: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Having received the same Holy Spirit and power, you are called to surpass even Jesus’s works. Be a doer of God’s word. Proclaim the good news, heal the sick, release captives, aid the needy, spread love and joy. Be the solution to your world.
To achieve this, you must walk in sync with the Holy Spirit, discern God’s will, and allow Him to guide your every action.
