FEBRUARY is the month of the Undimming Sun

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and

grow up as calves of the stall (Malachi 4:2).

In the Scriptures, there are several instances where people touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and received instant healing. For example, Luke 8 talks about the woman with the issue of blood, who suffered for twelve long years, spending all her earnings on physicians to no avail. But the Bible says she “… touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched” (Luke 8:44).

The word “border” in this verse is “Kraspedon” (Greek), and it means fringes or tassels. Also, in Matthew 14, when Jesus came to the land of

Gennesaret, the people of that region rushed to Him for healing, and the Bible says they “…besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole” (Matthew 14:36).

They brought so many sick people to Jesus, and He didn’t have to do anything; all they needed was to touch the fringes of His garment. Remarkable! Mark 6:56 says, “And whithersoever he entered, into

villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were, but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.”

What was special about the border of Jesus’ garment? Every Jew had the same fringes in their garments as Jesus (Read Numbers 15:37-38). So, it wasn’t about the fashion or style of His garment but the

one wearing it. Those who touched Him to be healed believed He was the Messiah; therefore, everything about Him, including the fringes of His garment, would produce healing.

That’s what we read in our theme verse. It says: “…the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings….” The word “wings” is “kânâph” in Hebrew, and it refers to the border or the fringes. Jesus had healing in His fringes, and they knew it! Glory to God! That power is still available today in His Name. So, if you’re sick in your body today, or you know someone who is, use the Name of Jesus against that sickness, disease, or infirmity; healing is guaranteed. Hallelujah!

The Lord Jesus is the Sun of Righteousness.

When you focus on Him, you’ll not see the debilitating and crippling influences around you. Too many people focus attention on challenges and problems; they keep thinking about the troubles and hardships in the world when they ought to focus on Christ. Christ is your all. Christ is your life. Christ is the solution to every problem. Hallelujah!

What this means, therefore, is that if you’re in Christ, that is, if you’re born again, you have nothing to fear; you need not worry about problems, tests, trials, and adversities. That’s because in Christ you’re a victor. The Bible says, count it all joy when you go through diverse tests (James 1:2). Colossians 1:27 says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” What does this mean? It doesn’t mean that you should hope for glory because Christ is in you; rather, it means you have a guarantee, a certainty that everything in life will produce glory for you because Christ is in you. Christ in you is your assurance or certainty that divine health is yours. Christ in you is your confidence that you’ll never be defeated, broke, or despondent in life.

Christ in you is your assurance that your life will forever be excellent and full of glory. This is the reason you have to be Christ-conscious at all times. Focus on Christ. Romans 8:10 says, “And if Christ is in you, though your body be dead because of sin, the Spirit gives it life because of righteousness.”

It doesn’t matter what happens or has happened to your body, Christ is the answer! Christ in you makes you excellent and sound. Meditate on Christ. Think about who He is to you, who you are in Him, and His ministry in you today. 1 John 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” His presence in you makes you an overcomer and more than a conqueror. Hallelujah!

In John 8, the Lord Jesus addressed the inability of the Jewish religious leaders to understand His message. He said, “Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word” (John 8:43). To them, His words were mere speeches—sermons that didn’t penetrate their hearts. But to others, it was the living and active Word of the Spirit.

God’s active Word in your spirit, released by you, effects changes. When you want to change hopeless situations, you speak forth His Word. That’s what Paul calls the sword of the Spirit in the opening verse—the spoken, active Word. The “word” is translated from the Greek “Rhema.” It’s also translated “word” in Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword….”

However, the Word, even though sharper than any two-edged sword, is in its sheath until you speak it. When you utter it, it becomes the sharp cutting edge that demolishes the works of darkness. In Revelation 1:16, the apostle John, referring to Jesus, said, “…out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword….” This doesn’t mean a literal sword was protruding from His mouth but that His words were a sharp weapon as they proceeded from His mouth.

The Greek word “stoma” is used for “mouth,” and it refers to the front or edge of a weapon. Your mouth is the front or edge of a weapon. When the Word of God comes out of your mouth, you’re cutting down cancer, you’re cutting down growths, diseases and poverty; you’re discomfiting Satan and the works of darkness. Your mouth is a sword. Use it to cut down the works of the enemy in your city, nation and nations of the world.
