As Told To Say: September is The Month of Revelation Knowledge (Epignosis)

-The future of many entities will be decided
-The eyes of many shall be enlightened to the reality of life
-The blind in reasoning and mind shall see as they come into knowledge
-Those stuck in loops of illusion shall be set free
-Pretenders to positions that require knowledge to lead will be pruned out
– Problem-solving abilities and financial backing for such will be made evident
-Wrong Knowledge and Understanding will be dethroned in the consciousness of believers
-A lot of faulty reasoning and belief systems will be corrected
-Confusion and the inability to move forward for many will be a thing of the past as they will have clarity
-Many with seedlings will plant them and learn how to water them into maturity
-In the place of prayer, power will be made available unto many or exploits
-Conscious knowledge and awareness shall be brought to the children of light this season
-Things remembered and things foreseen shall help establish things to do

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10).

What we just read is the Spirit’s prayer for the Church through the Apostle Paul. God wants you to be fruitful in every good work while simultaneously increasing in the knowledge of God. How important this is! What’s intriguing about Paul’s choice of words here is his use of “Epignosis” (Greek) for knowledge.

That term wasn’t commonly used in everyday conversations in Bible days. Interestingly, it was also used by Peter only in his second epistle, possibly influenced by Paul’s message. “Epignosis” refers to precise, correct knowledge. The power of “Epignosis” lies in its ability to relate to that which is known; it’s knowledge with intimacy.

Paul introduced this kind of knowledge, which the Jews generally weren’t acquainted with; they focused on memorising the Law, reading, internalising, and repeating it. But God wanted more; He didn’t want them to have just mere head knowledge of Him but the “epignosis” of Him.

No wonder He said, “…this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me…” (Isaiah 29:13). The Lord Jesus reiterated the same words in Matthew 15:8, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.”

For them in the Old Testament, there was no real relationship even though they could recite every detail or aspect of the Law. Therefore, Paul introduced this higher form of knowledge, a knowledge that includes fellowship with that which is known.

“Epignosis” surpasses mere observation; it involves a profound spiritual connection. So, when you engage with the Scriptures, it’s not merely about routine learning; it’s about deepening your relationship and interaction with the Lord and His divine truths. Hallelujah!

The Apostle Peter addresses those who have obtained like precious faith through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Then he declares, “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Peter 1:2).
But he’s not referring to just any kind of knowledge. The Greek word used for knowledge here is “Epignósis,” a specialised knowledge. It refers to the knowledge that comes through relationship and experience. It’s knowledge that relates to that object of knowledge or that which is known. You may know something intellectually, but that doesn’t mean you relate to it.

“Epignósis” is full, deep, exact knowledge. Think of it like footballers: some of them can control the ball with astonishing mastery. It’s as though they’ve become one with the ball. They’ve made friends with it. To them, it’s no longer just a piece of leather but something that has gained a personality to them.

Contrast that with someone who has general knowledge about the round leather ball. He or she might know the material, size, or structure of the ball. He may even be able to tell you the science behind its design, but he can’t control it. He has no mastery of the ball.

Mastery comes by relationship, and “Epignósis” is the knowledge that makes us masters. It unites the knower with that which is known. It comes through meditation on the Word—when the Word becomes personal to you and moves from theory to relationship.

This establishes you and causes grace and peace to be multiplied in your life. So, cultivate that relationship with the Word. Let it become more than information. Let it become a living reality; your life will blossom, and you’ll be a wonder to your world.

And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remoulded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it (Colossians 3:10 AMPC).

The Greek word translated “renewed” above is the verb “Anakainoo,” and it means a qualitative difference in terms of newness and quality. It’s a word that describes a keyword in 2 Corinthians 3:18: “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

The Greek word translated “Changed” is “metamorphoo”; a change in state, form, kind, quality or glory; a continuous transformation. But how is it done? It’s through knowledge, full and exact knowledge (Greek: “epignosis”). This isn’t just the knowledge of mere or distant acquaintance, but one that relates to that which is known. You’re being renewed in this full knowledge of God which you gain through meditation and revelation.

In “Epignosis,” you become what you know; the knowledge that’s granted you transforms your life. As you receive God’s Word into you, your spirit is renewed, refreshed, polished anew; you glow more and more! It’s the reason you must let the Word of God dwell in you richly because the more you know Him, the more the glory, grace, wisdom, and effectiveness of the Spirit are manifested and increased in your life.

The Lord Jesus said in John 6:63, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” It’s only God’s Word that can impact, transform, brighten and glorify the human spirit.
